- A Vineyard Haven Love Story by Tashmoo Lake –

On a bright June afternoon, Katherine and Lucas exchanged vows at the hidden and beautiful Tashmoo Spring Building in Vineyard Haven. With just over 30 loved ones present, their day was a masterclass in intimacy, ease, and heartfelt meaning — made even more special by the fact that Martha’s Vineyard is where their love story began 18 years before.

As their wedding consultant, day-of coordinator, and officiant, we were honored to guide them through every step, from vendor logistics to writing a ceremony that reflected their deep bond and shared joy.

Most people don’t know about Tashmoo Spring — a red brick building tucked beside Lake Tashmoo in Vineyard Haven, surrounded by trees and natural beauty. But Katherine and Lucas instantly saw its unassuming charm. We worked closely with them to bring in rentals, catering, florals, and a live band, transforming the space into a warm, inviting setting that fit their personalities perfectly.

The day began at the couple’s West Tisbury rental, where they got ready separately and shared a quiet first look in the fields before heading to the venue. Guests arrived by shuttle and were welcomed with champagne and live piano music.

The ceremony took place lakeside under an arbor draped with ivy and soft florals. The custom-written love story ceremony reflected their full journey: from chef pants and a bottle of Sailor Jerry’s rum to becoming parents to their sweet son. It was filled with laughter, deep emotion, and the kind of ease that only comes from a well-rooted partnership.

Afterward, guests moved under the sailcloth tent for cocktail hour and dinner — all centered around one long farm table. As the sun began to set, Katherine and Lucas shared a private cake cutting and danced under the fairy lights.
